- Abhishek Kumar Jha, PhD student with Dr. Jaleel Akhtar, has received the prestigious Graduate Fellowship Award of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society for 2015. The award is given every year by the IEEE MTT Society to 8-10 PhD students selected from all over the world. This award is offered first time ever to a PhD student from an Indian Academic Institution.
- Ankush Sharma has been selected for POSCO Power System Award (PPSA 2015) for his Ph.D. thesis titled, “Multi-Area Power System State Estimation Utilizing Synchrophasor Measurements, Multi Agents and Common Information Model” (Supervisors: Dr. S.C.Srivastava and Dr. Saikat Chakrabarti). He was among the top 10 candidates in Doctoral category.
- Ch V V S Bhaskara Reddy has been selected for POSCO Power System Award (PPSA 2015) for his Ph.D. thesis titled, “Early Detection & Control of Voltage Stability and Fast Assessment of ATC Using Synchrophasor Measurements” (Supervisors: Dr. S.C.Srivastava and Dr. Saikat Chakrabarti)

- IIT Kanpur team consisting of Amrita Bal, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Deepam Kedia and Gaurangi Gupta (Mentor: Dr. A. R. Harish) has won the Second Prize in the 2014 AP-S Student Design Contest held at 2014 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation, Memphis, TN, USA in July 2014. This is the first time that an Indian Team has reached to the final round.

- PhD student Ruchi Tripathi has received the best presenter award in the PhD Forum at International Conference on Communication Systems & Networks (COMSNETS) 2014, held in Delhi, Jan. 6-10.
- M. Tech. student, Mr. Mahesh Vardikar working with Prof. Saikat Chakrabarti won the POSCO Power System Award (PPSA 2014). Thesis title: Power system state estimation with external network equivalents considering measurement transformation.
- Professor S. N. Singh (EE) has been awarded Dr. P. S. Nigam Power Sector Award 2014 for the Best Technical Paper on Power Section entitled PQ Capabilities Curve of a single-stage Utility Scale Grid Connected PV Systems during the 94th Annual General Meeting of the Institution of Engineers (India), UP State Center held on November 30, 2014 at Lucknow. This paper is co-authored by Mr. Vivek Nandan Lal, PhD student.

- Professor Kumar Vaibhav Srivastava (EE) has been selected for IEI Young Engineer Award in Electrical Engineering discipline.
- M. Tech. thesis of Mr. M. Shaji, has been selected for the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award/Appreciation 2014. Mr. Shaji developed a Non-invasive Coplanar Microwave Sensor during his M. Tech. work, which was tested for detecting contamination in various food products. This work was also patented.
- Mr. Karan Nathwani has been selected for Raman-Charpak Fellowship for this year. He is doing PhD with Prof. Rajesh Hegde.

Srivastava have won the first prize of student pavilion (competing with 33 other institutes participated from India and abroad) in Gridtech 2013 organized by Power grid Corporation of India in association with Ministry of Power during 3-5 April 2013 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The title of the project was "Remote Monitoring and Control for Power System Network Using Mobile SCADA Application".
- Power System Operation Corporation (POSOCO) - a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID), in partnership with the Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT Delhi, has awarded POSOCO Power System Award (PPSA 2013) to the following PhD theses for innovative research in the areas of power systems.
- Dr. Seethalekshmi K., thesis titled "Developmet of Adaptive Load Scheduling and Distance relaying scheme utilizing synchophasor technology". Her thesis supervisors were Prof. S. N. Singh and Prof. S. C. Srivastava.
