Institute Digital Infrastructure and Automation (IDIAC)

  1. The committee has the mandate of reviewing or formulating policies for digital infrastructure and automation, as well as recommend purchases of software and hardware required for institute-wide usage for teaching, research, and administration.
  2. IDIAC will replace the Computer Centre Coordinator's Committee (CCCC).
  3. Constitution of IDIAC:
    1. DDIA (Chairperson)
    2. One member from each of the academic departments and interdepartmental programmes
    3. Two additional members from centers nominated by DDIA in consultation with the concerned centers
    4. One PG and one UG student representative, nominated by the President, Students’ Gymkhana
    5. Computer Center and Office Automation engineers

    The Chairperson can co-opt anyone else as a member for any specified period of time.

  4. Convenor of the IDIAC will be elected among the members for a period of one year. The convenor has the responsibility to convene the meetings.
  5. The term of the committee begins from October 1 every year.
  6. The members of the IDIAC shall normally serve for two years, with half of them changing every year. To start this process, the members from the following departments who will be serving from October 2024 will be serving only for a year, and new members will be joining in October 2025: AE, CHE, CSE, EE, MSE, SEE, NET, HSS, CHM, ES, PHY, DoMS.
  7. There will be one representative from IDIAC in each of the following committees under DDIA: (a) Telephone Advisory Committee; (b) HPC Advisory Committee; (c) Institute Cybersecurity Committee; (d) Steering Committe for Automation. DDIA may also nominate a representative from IDIAC for any other committee formed by DDIA.
  8. The committee may evolve policies for recommending software required for institute-wide usage for teaching, research, and administration.
  9. The committee may meet at least two times a year.
