Chemical sciences worldwide is undergoing a major change. Both in basic and application-oriented research, there is a great need for highly sophisticated equipments.
For example, the role of water in interfaciial systems is probed using highly sensitive transient spectroscopy that involves equipment like optical tables, lasers, autocorrelators, etc. Similarly, careful analysis of reaction products require sophisticated NMR instruments.
Despite generous funding from the institute, and other government and private funding sources, there is a constant need for more funds to make sure that the department is at the forefront of modern research. Donations to the department can also enhance the teaching facilities of the department greatly. Additionally, several of our very motivated and talented students will feel greatly appreciated if they are able to receive awards for their achievements.
Finally, there are several students who come from fairly modest backgrounds and would greatly benefit from funds to support their studies.
