On August 22, 2024, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur hosted a delegation from the French Institute & French Embassy in India. The delegation included Dr. Didier Raboisson, Attaché for Scientific and Academic Cooperation; Mr. Aymeric Vo Quang, Project Manager; and Dr. Meenakshi Singh, Scientific Coordinator. The visit aimed to strengthen the bonds of academic and scientific collaboration between India and France.
A significant part of the visit was a meeting with key faculty members from IIT Kanpur, including Prof. Manindra Agrawal (Director, IIT Kanpur), Prof. Tarun Gupta (Dean, DORD), Prof. Jayandharan G Rao (Associate Dean, DORD), Prof. Raju Kumar Gupta (Academic Program Director, IIT Kanpur-La Trobe University), Prof. Amitabha Bandyopadhyay (Head, Department of BSBE), Prof. Dootika Vats (Department of Mathematics and Statistics), Prof. Rajat Mittal (Department of CSE), Prof. Harshawardhan Wanare (Department of Physics), and Prof. Abhishek (Department of Aerospace Engineering).
The discussions revolved around fostering collaboration in various cutting-edge research areas and exploring multiple avenues to further enhance international academic collaboration with leading French universities. Additionally, the delegation engaged in an interactive session with students, offering insights into research and higher education opportunities in France. The session concluded with a lively Q&A, where students had the opportunity to discuss their academic aspirations and gain valuable guidance on pursuing studies and research in France. The visit marked a significant step toward deepening the academic ties between IIT Kanpur and French institutions.
