A delegation of 09 members from University at Buffalo (UB), New York visited IIT Kanpur including Prof. A. Scott Weber, P rovost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs along with Prof. Venu Govindaraju, Vice President for Research and Economic Development; Prof. Kemper Lewis, Dean, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Prof. Paras Prasad from Department of Chemistry along with other notable academicians to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form the IITK-UB Joint Centre of Excellence in Biomedicine and Bioengineering at IITK.

The main purpose of the centre would be to develop materials and technologies for bioscience applications and facilitate long-term joint research collaborations.
