On 17th of July 2017, IIT Kanpur and University of Buffalo, New York, USA signed an agreement to award joint PhD degrees to the students. The agreement signed by the President of University of Buffalo, Prof. Satish Tripathi and the Director of IIT Kanpur, Prof. Indranil Manna. Under this agreement, few students from both the universities will be admitted to the partner university as well and will be supervised jointly by the faculty of both the universities.
