The Office of International Relations (OIR) organized a Diwali get-together on 30th October 2022.
The get-together started with a small Diwali film showcased at L-15, for international students which explained the significance of Diwali in Indian culture, followed by Diwali celebrations.
All International students attended the party and the Dean of International Relations, Prof. Dhirendra S. Katti along with the staff members of OIR welcomed all the students.
Prof. Dhirendra S. Katti, explained the importance of Diwali and its cultural value to the students. The Diwali celebrations included rangoli making, diya (oil-lamps) lighting, Diwali fireworks and lantern lighting by the international students. Even, traditional snacks were served to the students which are generally associated with the festival of Diwali.
OIR wished the International students and IR volunteers (IITK students) a very Happy & Prosperous Diwali.
