The Office of International Relations at IIT Kanpur has introduced the second batch of Hindi classes for international students, starting on 23rd January 2025. These classes aim to enhance students' campus experience and make everyday interactions with the locals smoother. Understanding the role of language in creating a sense of belonging and community, the program is designed to help students integrate seamlessly into the daily life and culture at IIT Kanpur.
The initiative was inaugurated by Prof. Bushra Ateeq, Dean of International Relations, and Prof. Kantesh Balani from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Coordinator of the Shivani Centre, IIT Kanpur. The event emphasized the importance of this initiative in creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for international students. Some students from the previous batch also shared their experiences after taking part in Hindi classes last year.
