A one-day workshop on Right to Information Act-2005 was organized at IIT Kanpur on 24 September 2021. The main speaker of the workshop was Shri Rajeev Kapoor an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and the present State Information Commissioner (SIC) of Uttar Pradesh. The workshop was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble State Information Commissioner, Acting Director, Prof. S. Ganesh and Registrar, Shri Krishan Kumar Tiwari.

The Officers and employees of the Institute participated in large number in the workshop and got their clarifications in the difficulties observed in implementation of the RTI Act-2005 and possible remedies for the same. The main speaker emphasized that RTI Act-2005 is not merely an act but ‘sine qua non ’for a true democracy.

The workshop successfully concluded with the cooperation of Officers and employees from the different departments of the Institute.
