A Hybrid Approach for the Remediation of Chlorinated Pesticides :
There is a need of hybrid approach for the treatment for the pesticides. In recent year NZVI (Nano Scale Zero Valent Iron) shows a promising reagent for the treatment of chlorinated pesticides via reductive dechlorination. But NZVI also have some issues of their mobility and toxicity. NZVI produce ROS (reactive oxygen species) via Fenton chemistry, which may affect the nearby ecosystem. With the use of proper stabilizer, we can solve the problem of mobility and toxicity. This work proposes a possible synergistic effect of these two techniques to overcome their limitation for the remediation.
