Prerequisites: Course Contents Introduction: Definition of rate of reaction, types of reactors, industrial I reactions and reactors. Basic Concepts in Chemical Kinetics: reaction rate constant, reaction order, elementary reactions and molecularity, reversible reactions, non elementary reactions. Collection and Analysis of Rate Data: simple constant volume arid variable volume reaction systems, differential and integral methods of kinetic analysis, half lives, least squares analysis. Non elementary Homogeneous Reactions: reaction mechanisms, pseudo steady state hypothesis, chain reactions, enzyme reactions Isothermal Reactor Design: batch reactor, mixed flow reactor, plug flow reactor; multiple reactor systems. Design for Multiple Reactions in Isothermal.
