The CSAW'2021 (Cyber Security Awareness Worldwide) Competition was organized by Mr. Rohit Negi, Mr. Mridul Chamoli, and Mr. Anand Handa under the supervision of Prof. Sandeep Kumar Shukla (Prof. of CSE Department, IIT Kanpur & Director of C3i Center). In CSAW'2021, a total of 2 competitions from the India Region were conducted virtually, in which Capture the Flag, Embedded Security Challenge Competition were successfully organized. Capture the flag: - IIT's young talent has once again made us proud in cyber security matters. This time for the assessment of hacking skill in the hacking marathon, IIT Roorkee team " InfoSec IITR" was ranked 1st in the India region & ranked 4th worldwide. 2nd place was awarded to the again IIT Roorkee team "SDSLabs" while securing 15th rank at the world level. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Amritapuri team "Bi0s" finished 3rd and got the 20th position worldwide. ESC Competition: - This year's ESC competition focused on Side Channel Attacks and Fault Injection Attacks, which can be employed to extract private information from hardware. These classes of attacks have been demonstrated to leak entire encryption keys from popular cryptographic hardware such as AES. Teams can compete in one of two tracks: a research track or a technical track. In both tracks, the ChipWhisper Nano will be used as the target hardware board. Organizers would like to thank Siemens for sponsoring ChipWhisper Hardware in this year's competition. In the Research Track in Embedded Security Competition, Team Zeroleakers from IIT Madras secured the first position. In the technical track SDS Labs from IIT Roorkee secured the first position and team “SEAL” from IIT Kharagpur secured the second position. |
