Objective
The main objective of this school, which is sponsored by the
Department of Science & Technology,
Govt. of India, is to introduce the participants with the
fundamentals of synchrophasor technology and its important applications
that have the potential to make the existing transmission grid smarter.
It will also provide a platform for in-depth discussions on the various
challenges related to wide-scale implementation of this technology, and
will focus on possible solutions to these challenges. IIT Kanpur has
also set up real time digital simulation facilities through funds
provided by DST, New Delhi, and has developed a lab scale platform for
synchrophasor technology based WAMCS.
Who
Should Attend
The target audience will be from academic institutes, research
organizations, utilities, regulatory commissions and industries.
We expect about 20 participants from academic institutions, supported by
DST-SERB. We also expect about 15-20 participants from academic
institutes/industries/utilities, who will be self-sponsored.
Duration of the course
The course is planned for five days, tentatively scheduled during
December 10 - 14, 2013. |
