Nuclear Engineering and Technology Programme (NET) is interdisciplinary in nature and the eligibility criterion for applicants is a Bachelor's degree in any branch of engineering or an M.Sc. degree (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics). A valid GATE score is required to apply for the M.Tech. degree.
The PhD programme requires a Masters degree in Nuclear Engineering or in a related branch of engineering. The course work consists of a set of required courses covering the basic concepts of nuclear science and engineering, experimental techniques and a set of electives that may be taken from within or outside of the Programme. Students are expected to have an adequate background in Mathematics, Nuclear Physics and Heat Transfer.
Admissions are offered in July for M.Tech./Ph.D programme and in December for only for Ph.D. programme. Selected candidates are called for interview and/or written test.
