Tinkering laboratory is a platform for creative minds to come out of their ‘Think Space’ to hands-on ‘Tinker Space’, to transform their ideas into real-time engineering objects, and eventually to products and patents. This laboratory was setup in conjunction with TA201(Academic lab), 4-i lab, Central workshop, Design Program, and SIIC.
The Tinkering Lab was initiated by the Batch of 86 during their Silver
Jubilee Reunion in December 2010. The batch created a corpus of Rs 70 lakhs
for the lab, and the institute gave a matching grant. In January 2013, the
Batch of 76 decided to join hands and has committed an additional Rs 50
lakhs towards the corpus.
