Applications are invited for temporary & contractual post of Sr. Project Mechanics under the project entitled “Centre of Excellence for Large Area of Flexible Electronics at IIT Kanpur” at SCDT, IIT Kanpur.

Minimum Qualification: 3 years Engg. Diploma Or High School+ITI+5 years of relevant experience

Job Profile:

  • Prior experience in E-Textile: including the operation of semi-automatic sewing machines, is required. Candidates with valuable experience in screen printing for printed electronics, especially in wearable and diverse applications, as well as proficiency in HTV and DTF, are highly desired. Preference will be given to individuals with training and expertise in crafting, sewing, and weaving.
  • PCB Design: Demonstrate proficiency in basic 2-layer PCB design using ECAD tools such as Eagle and Dip Trace etc. Design footprints for various electronic components and develop customized breakout boards.
  • Interface Knowledge: Experienced in interface methods involving flexible substrates, textiles, and rigid PCBs, such as snap fit, ACF, PSA, crimping, and riveting techniques.
  • Soldering Proficiency: Exhibit hands-on experience in soldering and de-soldering SMT components like BGA, QFN, and TQFP. Familiarity with pick and place machines and rework stations is advantageous.
  • Circuit Understanding: Possess the ability to interpret circuit schematics, assemble components, and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Proficient in wiring breadboards for circuit testing, assembling components on Vero boards, and etching copper clad for simple routing and breakout boards for SMT components. Additionally, possessing familiarity with 3D printers for maintenance and operation is advantageous.
  • Office Suites: Knowledge of office suites for effective documentation.

Salary: Rs. 13000-1100-32800/- (per month based on qualification)

Term of Appointment: The appointment will be purely on temporary and contractual basis initially for a period of three years or end of the project, whichever is earlier.
